Soooo, I’ve got this guy up for auction on FA in a ladder auction format. I know I don’t have that many tumblr watcher, buuut figured it wouldn’t hurt. Plus I reeeeally like how he came out :3

So…. I SWEAR I sat down to work a little bit on the tcby’s but then I had an idea for something, and it turned into half a warmup scribble, but then I added some color, and then the color turned into this… and now…

Have a character :D I think he started out as a wolf, but then went kinda fox when I started to color him, but I guess… he’d be more like a kitsune? or just a magic user or something. He’s missin an arm. Or she I Guess if whoever gets him wants to change the gender XD

and that’s ladder style, so it’s all added together.

Anything over $100 can be discussed, though I’m not expecting it to go that high XD

I love it when a costume looks just like a drawing brought to life. ;W; This is wonderful!
_{I just don’t favor fursuits with handpaws that have less than five fingers, which is crazy because so many do and it’s such a common thing in art of any kind, but it’s unnecessary to me. Canines have four digits, and most have a dewclaw, why can’t they have four fingers and a thumb if they became anthropomorphic? I don’t dislike a suit because of that, just my opinion. ^^; It’s still adorable!}

I think a lot of suits, or, the people that are getting them, like the 3 fingers + Thumb look because it’s more ‘cartoony’. Like the disney hands, or warnerbrothers, they simplify them to 3+Thumb, so it kinda carry’s over and makes them looks more ‘cutsie’. I usually prefer the regular 4+Thumb myself, but tis the commissioners choice :3

But that’s just my idea on the 3 fingers thing XD

Tomorrow, I am (hopefully) going to start constructing the frame of the head. I’m going to Micheals, and maybe a fabric store too for foam. I’m going of Matrices tutorial and doing a moving jaw. Anyone have anything to add?

2 - 3 sheets of Plastic Canvas (sold at craft stores and Wal-Mart)

Be careful using Plastic Canvas. I know it’s cheap and a lot of first time makers use it *heck, I’ve used it before* But it doesn’t hold up for long unless you absolutely baby your head. Honestly, I’d say spend the little bit extra for a balaclava (ski mask) made out of a thin material like lycra, spandex, or a very light cotton *these can also be made really easily by putting 2 U shaped pieces of fabric together* and just going all foam. It usually looks a lot nicer in the end, too, because the plastic frame makes things look kind of blocky.

OR, make sure to reinforce the plastic canvas with something that’s got a bit more give when it gets bent, like foamies, if you absolutely need to stay cheap. Basically, cut the same thing twice, once from Canvas, once from foamies, and glue them together. It’ll make the canvas a little bit sturdier, and you can still use about the same method, since foamies are easy to sew through with yarn.

I am so absolutely in love with this person’s work. I think I’ve finally settled on who I’ll be getting Ko’s head from…Some day. No way in hell will I have $300 to drop on a suit head for…Years to come, but—

Look at that liger head to the right and tell me Ko wouldn’t look flawless in that style with that expression!
